Dr. Melissa Warak

On this week’s episode of We Are UT El Paso, Dr. Keith Pannell and Dr. Lindsey Macchiarella sit down with Melissa Warak, an Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Texas at El Paso. They discuss her life and how her passions led her to UT El Paso.

Melissa Warak is an Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Texas at El Paso. Professor Warak specializes in the relationship of music and sound to art of the twentieth century. Professor Warak teaches all of the modern and contemporary art history in the Department of Art at UTEP, including courses on Modernism; global contemporary art; Texas art; art of the United States; art and identity; women in art; a history of performance art; and several courses on the relationship between art and science.

London, England’s Dr. Keith Pannell created Science Studio in 1987 and has hosted the show for more than thirty years. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pannell provides listeners with a unique insight on the sciences. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at UTEP.
Olivia Williams is a volunteer at KTEP who is a Board Operator for Fresh Air once a week. She is also a producer at KTEP, editing Science Studio for the station.
