Nobel Prize for Medicine

On this week’s episode of Science Studio, Dr. Keith Pannell sits down with Associate Professor Dr. Sourav Roy to discuss the newly awarded Nobel Prize winners in medicine (Dr. Mary E. Brunkow, Dr. Frederick J. Ramsdell, and Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi) and the research which won this year's Nobel Prize: Peripheral Immune Tolerance.

Dr. Sourav Roy is a Biological Sciences associate professor at the University of Texas at El Paso. His research has involved the utilization of diverse in-silico, in-vitro, and in-vivo methodologies to understand the regulation of gene expression.

London, England’s Dr. Keith Pannell created Science Studio in 1987 and has hosted the show for more than thirty years. With a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Pannell provides listeners with a unique insight on the sciences. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at UTEP.
Olivia Williams is a volunteer at KTEP who is a Board Operator for Fresh Air once a week. She is also a producer at KTEP, editing Science Studio for the station.
