Due to the closure of all SISD schools on Fridays, the two Fridays during our Summer Workshop will be held with our new partners, the El Paso Library (Main Library Downtown), the MACC Museum, and La Nube Children's Museum. Rest assured, snacks and water will be provided, but students are kindly requested to pack their lunches on these two days. We will confirm more details during the first day of the Summer Workshop. ​​

Join us for an unforgettable evening of live jazz, food, and community as we close out the Summer Jazz Workshop at Mountain Star Brewery. This special event features performances by all student combos and big bands, along with a set from our faculty and guest artists. It’s a celebration of everything created during the two-week — and a night to remember with family, friends and our community.

Payment Plan Options: Participants have the option to pay in full upon registration or to choose payment plans when filling out the form, which is limited to a specified number of installments with designated due dates. There will be no exceptions for exceeding the maximum number of installments or missing the due dates. Additionally, late fees of $15 per day will be incurred for installment payments not paid by the due dates.

School/Organization Partner Discounts: Public or private schools with four or more students interested in attending the 2025 Summer Workshop are eligible for a 15% tuition discount per student. Each school may enroll up to 10 students per school (parents must register), total at the discounted rate. AUDITIONS

Auditions will be judged first and foremost on accuracy, so please prioritize a smaller portion of well-prepared material over performing everything (quality over quantity). The Jazz Exchange will better understand your skill level with more material presented through your audition. As this is a placement audition, we do not need to hear you perform everything perfectly, but instead are looking to understand the best placement for your optimal learning experience.

LUNCH / SNACKS
During the Summer Workshop, students will receive FREE lunch from the Pebble Hills High School Cafeteria from Monday - Thursday (we will provide the lunch schedule). Students are allowed to bring a packed lunch if they prefer. Additionally, snacks and water will be available throughout each day for all students.

We're also excited to announce that we'll have some special treats and visits from local businesses for students to enjoy! Stay tuned for more information during the Summer Workshop.

CANCELLATION

There is a 100% refund for tuition (less the $250 initial registration fee deposit non-refundable) until May 30th. There are no refunds beyond May 30th.

Puzzling Adventures are a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race, and an informative self-guided walking tour. Each adventure consists of a series of locations that you are guided to where you are required to answer a question or solve a puzzle to receive your next instruction. Compete as a group, individually or create multiple teams and race each other. Almost all of our adventures are designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly and all are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages. Complete the adventure as quickly as possible to win first place or take your time and enjoy the journey. Price is per team, not per person. Groups can be any size, but small groups are recommended for the best experience.

Drawing from the NMSU Art Museum’s extensive collection of over 2,200 Mexican retablos, Trinities of Heaven and Earth explores the spiritual and cultural importance of these sacred images. Retablos, small devotional paintings traditionally displayed in Mexican homes, served as vital expressions of Catholic faith and values within the household. The imagery of the Holy Family conveys blessings related to family life, while depictions of the Holy Trinity invoke divine guidance. Together, these themes explore the connection between sacred devotion and earthly life, bridging the divine and the domestic.

The exhibition will open on March 21, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the Margie and Bobby Rankin Retablo Gallery, and will be open until March 7, 2026. The museum is open Tues-Sat from 10 AM - 4 PM.

The wait is over! Explore our newest exhibit, Sue Koenig's Africa and Middle East Gallery! This is the first long-term installment of Sue Koenig's Window to the World collection that has been three years in the making. This exhibition is free and open to the public; donations are encouraged.

After thirty years of world travel, 110 countries, and over 10,000 items later, she started Window to the World, an international, interactive museum in Arkansas and Colorado. When she was unable to secure another building, the collection remained in storage for eighteen years. The collection now finds its new beginnings at the International Museum of Art.

As “The People’s Museum,” we are supported by our donors, community partners, and members like you. We began hosting our Member Showcase to highlight the creativity and talents of our supporters. This year’s show is titled Joy Abounds and is about celebrating the joy that we have in our lives and community.

We want to showcase the people, places, and moments that bring us happiness. Work that exemplifies your definition of joy or explores what happiness means to you is encouraged. Joy Abounds is open to work in all mediums.

Members at the Artist Level and above are eligible for free entry in the showcase. The call to artists is open until June 15. El Paso del Norte Proud is open to all artists ages 12 and up who have work that celebrates life in the El Paseo del Norte community in all mediums. Artists are invited to enter work that showcases their love for the region. Work that highlights the people and places that have shaped our culture is encouraged. Online classes for adults aged 50+ run from June 2 through July 11 in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Texas - El Paso. Register through May 30. Join OLLI with others who are interested in being active, engaged, creative, and connected through a variety of topics, such as art, current events, history, literature, music, fitness and more. THE JAZZ EXCHANGE ACADEMY PROGRAM

The Jazz Exchange Academy Program is designed for musicians of all levels who are passionate about improving their craft. Whether you're a seasoned player or an aspiring musician, this program offers the perfect environment to grow your skills. The deposit will confirm students' participation. Students will attend the designated time of the class and details and a welcome packet will be sent via email and a hardcopy will be given on the first day of classes.

**AUDITIONS REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS FOR PLACEMENT - Deadline: October 4, 2024**

To maintain the high standards of our program and ensure proper placement, we require a 6-7 minute audition video from all new and returning students. Please submit your audition by October 4, 2024.
